College Writing: Evaluate Websites | Step 1

This guide was created to help you learn the steps to successful academic research.

How to Evaluate Websites

According to Interlivestats.com "There are over 1.5 billion websites on the world wide web today. Of these, less than 200 million are active." 200 million is still an overwhelming number to search through when you're looking for trustworthy information. If you're using information you found on the web, it's important that you know how to evaluate the currency, accuracy and authority, relevancy, and purpose (CARP) of the site. Afterall, you don't want your information to smell "fishy."
